Every spring, pacific herring move inshore in the billions to spawn in Sitka Sound. This epic 2-3 week event marks the beginning of spring and offers photographers a unique opportunity to capture iconic Alaskan wildlife attracted by the herring. Humpback whales gather in large numbers exhibiting stunning feeding behaviors, most notably bubble net feeding.
