Sitka is a melting pot of cultures, languages and customs. Home to the native Tlingit for over 10,000 years, Sitka honors our history and remembers the past that shaped the town that is loved today. We celebrate our unique local culture, a blend of Tlingit history and traditions, as well as Russian and American influences from the last several hundred years. Visitors today still experience the cultural richness that inspired Sitka's 19th century nickname, the "Paris of the Pacific". Come see what our resident and visiting artists, musicians, writes and performers are creating. Discover our history and experience how it lives on today, or find your own inspiration in our inviting and energizing culture.
