This is just one of many surreal moments we experienced while visiting Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. Lake Clark is one of the largest U.S. national parks and also one of the least visited, as there are no roads to or within the park.
Why visit this most remote of places? For starters: glaciers, active volcanos, snow-capped mountains, aqua-colored lakes, braided rivers, wildlife, lush forests, sedge meadows, and waterfalls. Lake Clark’s natural beauty and pristine landscapes are breathtaking and varied, and the activities are endless. And, of course, the remoteness means being off the grid, total peace, quiet and very, very, very little human presence. (Only 18,000 visitors came to Lake Clark in 2022 compared to over 4.7 million at the Grand Canyon.)

📍Moose Antler Arch, Fairbanks-Alaska
One thing every tourist in Fairbanks should do is check out the world’s farthest north antler arch.
Located just a short walk from the Morris Thompson Visitors and Cutlural Center on the Chena River bike path near downtown, the arch is made up of more than 100 moose and caribou antlers that were collected from all over Interior Alaska.
The Antler Arch has become a popular local landmark.It is beautifully decorated with antlers from moose and caribou - a must-see when visiting Fairbanks downtown. Beautiful place to take some quick photos too🥰

Totem poles are a cultural part of many indigenous people of Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and British Columbia.
Totem poles are sculptures carved typically from Western Red Cedar or other large trees. The figures on the poles are not like gods to be worshipped. The totem poles represent the traits and characteristics of each clan or story personifies. The figures found on these poles include the raven (a symbol of the Creator), the killer whale (a symbol of strength), the eagle (representing peace and friendship), the Thunderbird, the bear, the wolf, the beaver, and the frog. It's interesting to note that totem poles are still created today, even though it's been part of history for many decades.
