Experience Sitka Festivals

Pulsing with culture, rooted in history and filled with natural beauty, Sitka has many reasons to celebrate. The Sitka Summer Music Festival gathers world-class chamber musicians who perform first in the coastal community before embarking on a tour across Alaska. In winter, the Sitka Jazz Festival brings the New Orleans flare with a concert series, dance parties and after-hours events. In the true Alaska-spirit, the Homeskillet Music Festival defies the ordinary with up-and-coming hip hop, indie and folk star performances, dancing and a beer garden. Another off-beat but must-see event is Arti Gras. With cake baking events, a wearable art show, live music and a film festival, the two-weekend affair celebrates creativity. At the Sitka Seafood Festival, parades, crab races and a fish head toss toast Alaska’s livelihood, the seafood industry. Relish in five-course meals, meet local chefs or take a cooking class at the annual event. At the Alaska Day Festival, don’t be fooled by the name. The full week of events honors Alaska’s history with a military parade, reenactments, a ball and more.
