Welcome to Southcentral Alaska! The summer season is full of adventures to suit any age or ability, and Greatland Adventures is ready to make your Alaska vacation a memorable one. From hiking on a glacier to viewing whales and wildlife, our team is knowledgable, friendly, and all local, so each experience will be a personal one.

Begin your trip with a three-hour Anchorage Sightseeing Tour of Alaska’s largest city. Your first stop will be historic Ship Creek, where the city began with a collection of tents in 1911. Today’s Ship Creek is a thriving urban salmon stream, where anglers often fish for salmon on their lunch break from the office. The area is also home to the Alaska Railroad’s original depot, so watch for the blue and gold trains as we transit this interesting part of Anchorage. Stop by Earthquake Park and visit Lake Hood Seaplane Base, the busiest in the world, and watch float planes take off for the most rural of locations around Southcentral Alaska.

Or, experience the Seward Highway’s scenic beauty as we travel from Anchorage to Portage Valley on a full-day wildlife tour. In addition to observing Alaska’s iconic animals, activity choices abound for guests, from a tram ride to the top of a mountain, to cruising an iceberg-dotted lake or hiking a forested trail.

Need to get to your cruise ship? Greatland Adventures also offers cruise transfer tours to and from Whittier or Seward, with stops at favorite Alaska spots like the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and the ski town of Girdwood for a ride up the Mount Alyeska tram.

Spot wildlife and observe glaciers from high above on a flightseeing tour, soaring with the eagles as you view Southcentral Alaska from the air. Flightseeing is also a great way to reach popular bear-viewing sites like Chinitna Bay or Redoubt Bay in Lake Clark National Park. Always wanted to see bears fishing for salmon? This is the way to do it.

Anchorage is a perfect hub for more remote Alaska adventures, with nearly unlimited access by road, rail, or air, so taking time to be acquainted with this historic city is worth the time!
