I’ve been to this park 3 times and I fall in love more each time! Located just over 2 hours from Anchorage, it’s certainly one of the most accessible Alaska national parks.
While it’s easy to drive to, the vast majority of the park is only accessed from the water, so you’ll definitely want to hop on a boat while you’re there!
Here is a mini-guide to visiting Kenai Fjords 👇
Make sure to leave no trace - pack out all of your trash, come prepared (carry bear spray for the Harding Icefield trail), and never feed or approach wildlife.

Another great bike ride today to Wrangle- St Elias National Park. Tess dominated a pretty serious hill and about 30 more miles. Now Canoeing… Ehhh we were both average at best, pretty good at beaching it on sandbars.

✨Scenes from Kenai Fjords National Park ✨
I’ve been to this park 3 times and I fall in love more each time! Located just over 2 hours from Anchorage, it’s certainly one of the most accessible Alaska national parks.
While it’s easy to drive to, the vast majority of the park is only accessed from the water, so you’ll definitely want to hop on a boat while you’re there!
Here is a mini-guide to visiting Kenai Fjords 👇
Make sure to leave no trace - pack out all of your trash, come prepared (carry bear spray for the Harding Icefield trail), and never feed or approach wildlife.
🥾Hike to Exit Glacier (2.2 miles), and/or up to the Harding Icefield (8.6 miles with a lot of elevation gain) if you’re up for a challenge
🛶Take a kayaking tour with kayakadventuresworldwide and get up close and personal with a glacier!
⛴️Take a wildlife cruise with majormarinetours and look for whales, otters, sea lions, puffins and more!
☕Take some time to explore the town of Seward, which has lots of shops and restaurants. My favorite spots are resurrect.art for coffee and art, lonechicharron for tacos, cookeryseward for fine dining, rowdy.radish for a breakfast spot that opens early, and Red’s Burgers to eat on a school bus
🗺️Stop at the Kenai Fjords visitor center for a souvenir, stamp or information.
