On your flying adventure you will experience exceptional, unobstructed views of Knik Glacier, Colony Glacier (and a few other glaciers tucked away in the mountains) as well as other jaw dropping features of the Knik River Valley. Take flight over stunning mountain peaks, spot wildlife, towering waterfalls, dramatic glacial terrain & beauty that is unique to this piece of Alaska backcountry. Knik Glacier is not accessible by road making it the perfect peaceful adventure playground away from the crowds.
With Outbound Heli Adventures you will experience custom flight paths & landing locations. Choose your landing location or locations based on your interest and bucket list. You can choose from a high alpine landing to take in large, sweeping sights of the glaciers & rocky ridgelines, land on the shoreline of a massive glacial lake filled with giant floating icebergs, a rocky beach at the face of a dramatic ice wall or let your pilot take you to their favorite landing locations.
Once your helicopter has landed on the glacier you will step foot on the ancient ice of the Knik Glacier & explore the glacier's surface with your pilot. Experience the many features of the glacier including majestic blue pools, swirling moulins, dramatic ice formations, & deep crevasses.

Make your adventure even more memorable by taking the ultimate polar plunge into a breath-taking blue glacier pool! This can be added to your experience at no extra cost to you. You are welcome to bring dry clothes to change into afterwards or bring a bathing suit for the plunge. Towels and yoga mat for standing are provided. If you would like to take the plunge let the team know at check-in so your pilot can plan accordingly.
