Katmai Wilderness Lodge is one of the few lodges in Alaska where the primary activity is bear viewing. There are no viewing platforms or timed excursions as guests are out all day with experienced guides, exploring the coastline by boat. As conditions allow, you'll join bears on land, giving you unparalleled wildlife viewing and photographic opportunities. While bears take center stage, guests commonly see harbor seals, sea otters, eagles and a variety of marine bird life. Other species that you may see (though less predictable), include wolves, moose, red fox, porcupine, whales, porpoise, sea lions and river otters. With only 12-guest capacity, Katmai Wilderness Lodge offers intimate wildlife excursions for an unforgettable Alaskan experience.
