The Inter-Island Ferry Authority was formed in 1997 to improve transportation to island communities in southern southeast Alaska. The M/V Prince of Wales and Stikine are both 198 feet long and are rated at 95 gross tons. The passenger capacity is 160 & 190 respectively, and each can carry up to 30 vehicles.
