Experience Soldotna Progress Days
Live music, parades and barbecue draw locals and visitors alike to the annual Soldotna Progress Days, held on the fourth weekend in July. For more than 61 years, the annual event celebrates the Soldotna community with a full weekend of family friendly events. Friday’s festivities kick off the weekend with a free community barbecue, homesteaders meet-and-greet and performances by local artist Hobo Jim. With long, sunny days, Saturday’s entertainment starts bright and early with a community parade around town followed by arts and crafts vendors and food kiosks at Soldotna Creek Park. Throughout the day, the Soldotna Senior Center hosts the Craft Bazaar and Quilt Show while cowboys flock to the nearby K-Beach for the Soldotna Rodeos. At night, jam alongside bands like 36 Crazyfists at the Rock on the River Concert. Other events at the two-day festival include a free community picnic, Dutch oven competition and Sawfest.
