Day 1 Anchorage

Arrive in Anchorage Begin your journey in Alaska’s largest city where you can experience our rich culture & heritage. Visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center, the Anchorage Museum of History & Art or the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum. Enjoy fine dining and shopping downtown without having to pay a sales tax! Or take a day trip on the Alaska Railroad (Alaska Scenic Byway) to go rafting or day boat cruising.

Day 2 Seward

Head south on the scenic Seward Highway 125 miles to Seward. Or disembark off your cruise ship in the quaint waterfront town of Seward. Spend the day exploring Kenai Fjords National Park on a day boat cruise, kayak or guided sport fishing charter. Overnight at one of the many hotels or B&Bs.

Day 3 Cooper Landing

Spend the morning in Seward at the Alaska SeaLife Center or get up close to glaciers by walking to Exit Glacier or taking a helicopter trip to the top of glacier. You can even mush dogs on a glacier or take sled dog ride with an Iditarod Champion. Then head north to the community of Cooper Landing, home of the world famous Kenai River. Enjoy a float or fishing trip down the river or go horseback riding in the mountains. Overnight in a lodge or cabin.

Day 4 Soldotna

Depart Cooper Landing and drive one hour Soldotna. Visit the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Interpretive Center or fish the Kenai River from Soldotna, which is home of the 97 lb. World Record King salmon! Or fly out to a remote fishing lodge, go bear viewing or flightseeing from the city airport. Relax in the evening golfing under the midnight sun. Overnight at a lodge or hotel.

Day 5 Kenai

Drive a half hour to historic city of Kenai. Visit the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center to learn about the history and culture of the Kenai Peninsula and see the changing art exhibit. Get a walking map and explore Old Town Kenai. Visit Historic Kenai Landing, a waterfront resort with shopping, restaurants and lodging. Spend the night in Kenai.

Day 6 Homer

Head south on the Sterling Highway to Homer. On the way enjoy panoramic views of 4 active volcanoes across Cook Inlet. Visit the many art galleries and shops in downtown Homer or explore the Homer Spit, a long narrow finger of land jutting 4.5 miles into Katchemak Bay. World class halibut fishing is available here or take a wildlife cruise for the day or to a remote wilderness lodge. Be sure to visit the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center or take a guided natural history tour. Overnight at lodge or one of Homer’s many fine hotels and B&Bs.

Day 7 Kodiak

Two fisherman statues carry a huge salmon in KodiakFly or take the Alaska Marine Highway to Kodiak. Enjoy your first day in Kodiak on a walking tour of town. Discover Kodiak’s Russian and Alutiiq history at the Baranov Museum and the Alutiiq Museum & Archaeological Repository. Visit the oldest Russian Orthodox parish in Alaska or stroll down to the St. Paul Boat Harbor & Shelikof Waterfront. Or enjoy the trails and scenery in some of the many State Parks on Kodiak Island.

Day 8 Kodiak

Start the day early with a fly out trip to view the famous Kodiak Brown Bear. Fly out trips are available to the Katmai Coast or the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge. It is easy to extend bear viewing opportunities by spending a couple of nights at a cabin or lodge. Or spend your day fishing on a charter boat, fish camp or float trip. There are also several opportunities to fly out to a remote fishing lodge.

Day 9 Anchorage

Fly to Anchorage for your departure.
