My husband Troy and I spent 12 days driving across Alaska on our honeymoon in July. Our favorite town was Homer, Alaska. The Homer Spit was such an interesting place. My husband went on a halibut charter with Falcon Charters. He had the best fishing of his life and can't wait to return. While he fished, I enjoyed the towns small shops as well as their local animal shelter. I walked along the beach watching the bald eagles as the looked for crabs that the tide had washed in. We saw on our journey every animal you could hope to. Bear, Moose, Caribou, Eagles, Dall Sheep, Wolves, Foxes, Hares, Reindeer and Whales. The Kenani Fjords and Price William Sound trips were both great. The glaciers were breathtaking. It was amazing to get as close as we did to them. We would highly recommend Alaska to anyone looking for a great vacation spot. It is such a beautiful place to drive through and see. We were sad to leave and have often talked of how we could make a life there. We hope that others will go to Alaska and visit. If you do, make sure to visit the Homer Spit. A trip without visiting Homer would not be complete.
