Shaped by the staggering force of massive glaciers millions of years ago, Alaska’s Inside Passage boasts wildlife-filled fjords and lush island scenery — habitat for bald eagles, sea lions, porpoises and whales. Its mountains are carpeted with majestic forests. Inside Passage Alaska is home to Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian Indians whose history is reflected in towering totem poles. Russian settlers left a legacy of onion-domed churches gleaming with icons.

i had a fantastic trip to Alaska this September ('06).  i enjoyed a 7-day cruise thru the inside passage and a four day land tour from whittier to fairbanks.  my favorite places were ketchikan (- i kayaked eagle island with a wonderful guide - marvin oliver - and it was like being in heaven.) and denali (took a flight seeing tour and landed at base camp - wow!).  all the locals i met were so kind...

We toured Alaska from June 23 thru July 8.  We used a variety of transportation modes and had a great time.  We highly recommend using the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System.  The ferries were fabulous and we didn't have to dress for dinner like the cruise liners!  We had everything we needed.  Alaska Ferry Adventures helped customize our trip to accomodate our desires.  Our trip: Flew in...
