The heart of Alaska is just one hour from Anchorage in the breathtaking Mat-SuValley. The area is comprised of 13 different communities including Palmer, Wasilla and Talkeetna.  Take a glacier hike or helicopter tour, explore historic mining areas, see spectacular views of McKinley from the southside, visit the Iditarod Trail headquarters and meet a dog musher, go to the musk ox farm, fish for salmon or trout, flightsee and land at Denali’s climbers’ base camp!

Get your free Mat-Su Guide at our visitor center located at Mile 35.5 Parks Highway (Route 3). While you’re there peruse brochures, have a cup of coffee and pick-up a free Glenn Highway National Scenic Byway map and audio CD.
