Denali Highway Jeep Excursions

Don't miss the Denali Highway, the #2 “Drive of a Lifetime” by National Geographic Traveler magazine! Once the gateway to Denali National Park, this 135-mile rough gravel road is surrounded by pristine nature and is a photographer’s paradise. Capture the sheer size and beauty of Mt. McKinley as it dominates the Alaska Range (weather permitting). Snow-capped mountains, icy glaciers and panoramic vistas flank the Denali Highway. During your guided and narrated 100+ mile round trip excursion, there are opportunities to see moose, caribou, porcupine, beavers, eagles and even grizzly bears; your guide is an experienced wildlife spotter! New, 4-door, 4x4 Jeeps hug the dirt
road, smoothly traversing rough terrain while comfortably seating four adults who can trade off
driving. Each Jeep has a CB radio for communicating with the guide so stops can be made whenever
desired. As driving the Denali Highway is prohibited by most rental vehicle companies, this exclusive
excursion provides access to more of Alaska's spectacular scenery and wildlife and is a great
alternative to crowded bus trips into Denali National Park. Snacks and drinks provided. Car and
booster seats available. Must be 25 with license to drive or may ride as a passenger.

Camp Denali & North Face Lodge

Learning adventures for active travelers based from the only lodgings in Denali National Park with views of Mt. McKinley. Naturalist-guided hiking, wildlife observation, biking, canoeing, evening programs. Small, family-owned and operated.

For over 50 years, CampDenali’s extraordinary setting has inspired people from around the world. No fewer than eight major mountains of the Alaska Range command the view from our hand-picked location. MountMcKinley is mirrored in the still waters of Nugget Pond, CampDenali’s natural centerpiece.

North Face Lodge was homesteaded in 1957 by park superintendent Grant Pearson for its fine view of Denali’s crest and its proximity to Moose Creek. In 1987 the Cole family purchased and renovated North Face Lodge to protect the land from unchecked development. Today, this modern north-country inn maintains a purposefully intimate size. Grant Pearson’s rustic log cabin still stands nearby.

Denali Park Village

McKinley Village Lodge, one of our Denali lodges, is located seven miles south of the park entrance and nestled along the banks of the Nenana River. Spread over 20 acres, the McKinley Village Lodge offers light hiking and interpretive trails throughout the facility. For the adventurous, there are more rugged trails located near the property entrance. Ideal for families and convenient for travelers with their own vehicle, this Denali Lodge brings you close to the action – yet enjoy the evening solitude as you relax to the sound of the river sweeping by. Rooms are spread out between seven two-story buildings, one of which has an elevator. 2009 marked the completion of guest room renovations – including updated bathrooms and upgraded guest amenities.

In summer the midnight sun will boost your energy when you think the day is already done. Fairbanks is alive with things to see and do, from visiting with a dog musher and her team to enjoying Shakespeare in an open air theater.  Music and dance, art classes, flightseeing, walking tours, visiting a rural village where you’ll be met by Alaska Native peoples, bird watching or golf beneath the midnight sun.  Ice Art, cross-country skiing, dog mushing and the northern lights await you in the winter months. There is something for everyone!Emanating a quality of light, energy and warmth found nowhere else on Earth, Fairbanks truly is the unexpected Alaska.
