Bering Sea Crab Fishermen's Tour

Join the Captain and crew of the Aleutian Ballad, a crab boat made famous on season 2 of the Deadliest Catch. Set out in the calm, protected waters of coastal Ketchikan and relax in the vessel’s heated and sheltered outdoor amphitheater as you explore the incredible scenery of Alaska. On deck, a skilled fishing crew will haul up crab pots and long lines from the depths, revealing amazing sea life including King crab, snow crab, shark, octopus, prawns, and rock fish. The catch is then placed into an on-deck tank for you to view and interact with. Throughout the entire tour you’ll hear stories of the men who have spent their lives working at sea. Common tour sights include an incredible bald eagle display, seals, sea lions, whales, and native Alaskan fishermen working the scenic coastline.

Ketchikan Visitors Bureau

We are eager to show you why we love Ketchikan. Our island is accessible by both sea and air. We’re about 700 miles northwest of Seattle, on Alaska’s famed Inside Passage waterway. Ketchikan is a popular destination for cruise travelers, sportsfishers, adventurers, and anyone ready to take a break from everyday life and experience a unique lifestyle.

Ketchikan was recognized a few years ago as one of America’s Top 100 Small Arts Communities. Native artists, some internationally known, work in traditional forms from carving to weaving. Contemporary artists produce amazing work in media from acrylics to sculpture, ceramics to watercolor. In 2011, we invite you to join Ketchikan in Celebrating, ‘The Year of the Artist’.

History, scenery and just plain fun provide inspiration for local attractions. Museums, historic sites and interactive tours highlight our town. Five species of wild Pacific salmon return from the open ocean to waters near Ketchikan, offering great angling opportunities. The 2.3 million-acre Misty Fjords National Monument is located 40 miles south of Ketchikan provides outstanding recreational opportunities and wildlife habitat.

Unlike other operators who claim “million acre” operating areas, at SEABA you wont have to fly a “million acres” to get to the pow. All SEABA packages are up front, with no hidden costs. We don’t sell packages by the hour because it wont take an hour to fly to the goods! The guides at SEABA have flown and pioneered most every mountain range in Alaska, from Valdez to Knik to Cordova over the last twenty years.

City Guides & Visitor Centers (6)
