What we thought was great about our Alaska trip.  EVERYTHING.  We were in awe of the mountains, the waterfalls, the trails, the glaciers and were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful wildflowers and especially the rainforests which we never expected to find in Alaska.  The first time we drove from Eagle River to Seward, it took us nine hours because we kept stopping to take pictures.  We drove to Talkeetna and saw Mt. McKinley, even at a distance, it was magnificent.  We drove to Whittier, Kenai and then to the end of the North Road.  We spent one night at a B&B, Daniels Lake Lodge near Kenai which was so cozy that we left three hours later the next morning then we had planned to.  We took 1800 pictures and are now having a difficult time picking out the best 400.  We drove 1400 miles in 5 days and loved every minute of it.  Even when we drove the same road more then once, we saw something new or in a different light.

We drove from Fredericksburg Virginia to Skagway Alaska. We were visiting our daughter who lives in Skagway. We entered Canada from North Dakota into Manatoba headed for the Alaska highway. The roads were great!! The gas prices were a little steep the further north we went.We saw carabu, buffilo, mountain goats and a few deer. The mountains were awesome. During our stay in Skagway, we rode the train, visited the garden and drove up to Whitehorse. It was a great trip!! We plan to visit again and again.
