One of the best known things about me and my husband is that we are major foodies- Fairbanks was lots of fun in that regard. Salmom Bake at Alaskaland, you can't go wrong. Even better deal is to request a to-go plate. They pile it higher for half the price!! Chowder House for yummy sandwiches and soup, save room for a GIANT eclair. Best of all is Two Rivers Lodge at 16 mile Chena Hot springs road. They have local food and somtimes fly in specialties. Great local beer on tap, fabulous drive, and beautiful location. Our favorite special place.
In Valdez---Mike's Palace restaurant serves the finest, best Olympic Halibut we have ever eaten.
Our trip was marvelous-9831 miles from San Diego over a 10 week period. This is our third ground trip to alaska and my added experience of flying my small plane up there with 9 other aircraft in a group flight.
And we are ready to go north again next summer!!!!
